Raise your hand if you have a Lazy Susan in your kitchen? It doesn’t matter in what decade a home was built, these seem to be in almost every cabinetry corner. While they do have some endearing aspects, that spin is always fun… for the most having an organized lazy Susan is a myth. We love a good organized kitchen, but found this space to be the biggest challenge!
The right lazy susan accessories
We went on the hunt to uncover some solutions for this awkward piece of cabinetry. And were pretty darn delighted when we stumbled across mDesign’s Lazy Susan organizing bins. These guys are pie shaped – bravo for that! And it keeps getting better… they’re also clear so you can easily see all your contents.
Want to know what we’re using these for? First up: Snacks. Kids love nothing more then having them at their level. It’s also nice for parents when kids can help themselves to a protein bar or fruit/ veggie pouch.
One of our other favorite uses is to store veggies that prefer cool dark places. Root veggies in particular are good candidates but double check, as some do better in the fridge. For my sweet potatoes and spaghetti squash I do love storing them in the Lazy Susan. And these bins function perfectly. The containers are super easy to wipe down, and you don’t end up with debris all over your cabinets.
One word of warning before you attempt an organized lazy Susan. Please measure, and then measure again. Pie shaped is completely magical when it comes to a circular cabinet. But it won’t do you much good elsewhere if it isn’t the right fit.
Happy organizing!
Love,
