It’s no secret that kid’s (and adult’s) craft supplies can be one of the trickiest things to keep contained. It’s one of our most requested and most asked about spaces. Glitter. Everywhere. All. The. Time. We’ve found some tried and true storage solutions that not only keeps the supplies accessible, but also easy to put away, even for our littlest artists.
Supplies Storage
We absolutely love these clear, wide mouth plastic jars and apothecary jars for storing collage materials, scissors, markers and crayons. You name it, you can put it in these jars. They are unbreakable, easy to access and kid friendly. The above mentioned half gallon plastic jars are large enough to hold full packs of bulk supplies. Also…you know we love to label things even in clear containers…but you certainly don’t have to 🙂
Wrapping Station
If you have a dedicated craft room, keeping your gift wrap organized is a must. Prevent crushed rolls of wrapping paper by using mini tension rodsto display your wrapping paper in between the walls of your shelf or cabinet. You can use the same tension rods to hold rolls of ribbon. Simple and effective.
Use cute little jars and vases to display and hold your embellishments, gift tags, and other gift wrap necessities.
Keep a dedicated tape dispenser, pens and pair of scissors in the gift wrap area so you always have the supplies that you need. Store tissue paper and gift boxes on a shelf below the paper and ribbon for easy access.
Paper Storage
A simple and effective way to store craft paper (scrapbooking, construction, etc) is a corrugated paper sorter. These things are serious organizing magic. It keeps all those beautiful colors visible and organized.
Craft Carts + Totes
If you don’t have a dedicated craft area, we often recommend using a rolling craft cart. These are compact and easy to store in empty closet space while still having everything you need all in once place. We love using clear totes to store materials right on the cart. Pack them full with a set of markers, crayons and scissors for an easy to grab solution. Keep another full of paint supplies. Simply roll the cart out when you need it, or grab the individual totes right off the cart right to your workspace. Mobile craft station!
Art Display
Don’t forget to show off your mini Monet’s work proudly and prominently. Using a wire curtain rod attached to the wall is an excellent way to display artwork interchangeably, without a lot of tape on the walls 🙂 Kids can swap out their latest masterpieces as often as they please.
Nothing makes me happier than a well organized craft room 🙂
Happy Organizing!
Love,
