You all know how much we love our plants, but finding the perfect planter can be time consuming + expensive. I spotted some dip dyed terracotta planters at one of my favorite shops, but they were pricey at over $60. So I decided to try creating my own version!
You can pick up terracotta planters online or at your local nursery, and usually for under $5. Then using whatever white paint you have laying around- you’re ready to get started! Personally I love Annie Sloan chalk paint, and had some left over of the old white color- so that’s what I went with for this project.
These are really easy and only take about 10 minutes. You may find that you need two coats of paint as terracotta can be pretty porous. I used a foam brush, but any type of paint brush should work just fine. If you want more of a straight line, vs the free form look shown here, just use tape to create your line and then paint below.
Here’s the finished product in my little kitchen office. The pots are cute on their own, but add a plant and it really completes the look. If you decide to make your own version, we’d love to see how they turn out!
